Well its been a great early season here in Montana. The weather has been crazy of course, including a two week stretch in December when the temps never went above freezing and moreover spent most of the time below zero. Like -30 cold. but as always the snow came through and we had some fantastic days on the Mtn.
It is so beautiful here that every morning I am reminded why I keep coming back to this place. Waking up with a view of an 11,000 foot volcanic mountain that they let you ski all over, couldn’t imagine a better way to greet the day. Lots of friends are here and already the season has been filled with friends coming back to visit. Unable to stay away from such a special place for long.
The biggest news in my work world is that this year I have started a Moonlight Freeride team. A concept that I have been working on since I started here two seasons ago. I have a group of five kids from 10-14 that are training to compete in junior big mountain events all over the northwest. Its exciting to me because I can share my passion for big mountain skiing with youngsters and get them involved early in what I think is becoming the most progressive part of skiing.
Otherwise all is well in the wily southwest corner of Montana and I hope you all enjoy the photos.
